In celebration of the eightieth anniversary of the founding of UNESCO, the Netherlands National Commission for UNESCO and the Fotomuseum Den Haag have joined forces to shine a spotlight on women who are making a difference. From miller’s wives to professors, each has a unique, personal commitment to peace, equality and fostering connections.
Â
Photographer Carla van de Puttelaar, renowned for her beautiful and insightful portraits, has created powerful images of eighteen women. Each portrait is enhanced by the women’s personal stories about the impact they have made, their motivations and dreams for the future. Showing the portraits and stories together creates an image of strength, diversity and commitment.
Â
The exhibition can be visited free of charge.
